Gearing up for Nothing But Trouble, Book #2

I've been lost in a world of wedding celebrations and travelling and family visits since, well, it seems like a year now. BUT starting at the end of this month, no more parties, no more planning, only writing and getting back into the author swing of things. I'M SO EXCITED!

When you're an author, not writing is VERY difficult. You live and breathe your characters, they mind-chat with you and they commandeer your thoughts at the most inconvenient times--when you're working, doing chores, when you should be sleeping, you name it. So not having an outlet to get your thoughts down on paper is SO DISTRACTING!

To be able to use my writing time to actually start writing again is something that will be both challenging and liberating. Challenging because when you stop writing, or at least when I stop writing, I get out the habit and find myself staring blankly at a screen, uncertain where to start. Liberating because there isn't that gnawing sense of "you should be" and "I really want to be" going on underneath everything else you're trying to accomplish.

So, again, I'm super stoked that after April 24th my life will be somewhat back to normal. And because I'm so excited, I've snuck in some outlining this week, ahead of schedule. Mac and Colton and their twitterpation are SOOOO close to being explored, it's making me giddy. Until then though....

Happy Reading!
(p.s. you know it's close to happening when I start my new story notebook. ;)

Whatever It Takes is live!

Happy Release Day!

Whatever It Takes is live and you can find it at the following sites:

Four years ago, I thought my life was pretty normal for a teenager. Three years ago, my world was shattered, and now I’m just trying to hold the pieces together. But regret and anger aren’t so easy to ignore.

I just need to catch my breath … for it all to go away …

I thought I might finally be ready to move on from that horrible night, but then he decided to come back.

He can’t come back … he’ll ruin me completely.

One horror-filled night changes the course of Samantha’s seemingly normal life. She’s ruined everything. Despite her determination to keep the family ranch up and running, her guilt makes it impossible to completely move on or forget.

Sam takes comfort in her quirky, endearing friends as she tries to balance between the girl she was and the woman she wants to become. Just when she thinks she’s finally making amends with her past, someone she never thought she’d see again returns, and Sam’s life is once again turned upside down. Both her head and her heart want different things, so she’s lost when, once again, she’s forced to make a decision that will inevitably change her life.

My Upcoming Releases for 2016!

While most of my 2016 will be focused on planning my wedding and trips overseas to celebrate my marriage to my best friend and love of ten years, I do plan to have a couple releases for your reading pleasure.

Two books in my Nothing But Trouble Series will be published this year, the first two books in a series of at least three.

My new adult, more real-to-life contemporary series follows the lives of three friends, Sam, Mac, and Nick and the obstacles that many of us face throughout our lives. With a sprinkle of romance, a dash of comedy relief, and a flooding of heart, my Nothing But Trouble Series will hopefully make you laugh as much as you might cry.

Here's what's coming down the pike...

Book One
Nothing But Trouble
January 22, 2016 - Whatever It Takes (Kindle and Paperback editions available)

“Your heart’s so big, it holds too many emotions,” Papa once told me. “I can see them in your eyes, just like I could with your mama. You love like it’s air you need to breathe. It’s what makes you special, but it’s also what will give you the most heartache.” I’m starting to think that maybe Papa was right.

Wit, Sex, and Strong Characters. What more can you ask for? A Beautiful Bastard Book Review

Witty Banter, Unique Characters and Dynamic, Sex...what more can a romance lover ask for?

I loved this story. I didn't really have any expectations, seeing how it was the only audiobook I had during a long drive that I hadn't listened to already. BUT I LOVED IT. There's something to be said for a fresh, new story with the alpha male boss who wants XYZ. That's something that there's a lot of, but not delivered in the way this book is. There's no dominating and billionaire privilege, at least not the in-your-face style that I find myself skimming through. No, this was dish it out and take it storytelling, no meek and meager wench who can't hold her own.

This book was different for me in a many ways. The Characters were perfect. I loved their dynamic, the way Chloe gave right back to Bennett, the way they both felt more "normal" and "real" than most characters that I've read in any contemporary romance stories. It was just a fun, witty, banter-laced read that made me want to get back in the car and keep driving so that I could finish their story.

Fun side note - The author is really "authors" and their names are Christina and Lauren. Love it! These ladies are filled with clever. Can't wait to read (or listen to) another. I give it 5/5 stars!

Happy Reading, all!

P.S. They're making it into a movie :)

...It is Done!...

After months of prepping and writing, I am proud to finally announce that I have finished my first official rough draft of my NaNoWriMo project. Here's the final, official breakdown...

Title: "Reilly", now officially Whatever It Takes
Current Word Count: 78,582

What's Next?
First of all, I'm going to take a break. Ideally, I'd like to step away from the story for an entire month or so, but I'm hoping to use my holiday time off at the end of December to do another read-through and make intense revisions. Scenes will be added and removed. Settings developed. Research done. The list goes on.

The good news is that I already have my first draft written and my main characters fleshed out, and those are the biggest, most stressful and time consuming steps in the process. So, I'll be stepping away from Whatever It Takes for a few weeks while my mind re-saturates with creativity and I don't feel so drained of inspiration.

Then, after my revisions and final solo read-through, I'll send the manuscript out to my betas for feedback, then its onto the editor while I rework my cover, then it's publication time... All while working on the final Ending Series book. So, I'm crossing my fingers that I can juggle everything and execute Before The Dawn and Whatever It Takes with quality and enthusiasm.

Wish me luck!
